Environmental

Having consideration for the environment is part of IWJS’s daily life and operating in the waste management industry requires us to comply with certain environmental legislation. However we aim to exceed these requirements as it benefits the world we live in, our clients and our own business. All staff undertake environmental training as part of their induction to the business to increase their environmental awareness.

IWJS invests heavily in the latest specialist vehicles using recycling technology to mitigate our water use and minimise waste generation. These recycling units remove water from the collected waste to be used again as part of our jetting and waste collection operations.

Fitting tracking management systems to all the IWJS fleet minimises daily travel distances reducing our fuel bill and our carbon footprint. We also set our own internal targets in reducing the use of diesel, water, gas, electricity and other materials at all of our depots.
As an environmentally conscious organisation IWJS will continue to find new ways of reducing our environmental impact.
