IWJS Ltd has cornered the majority of the UK’s road tunnel cleaning by developing bespoke vehicle mounted cleaning units.
Designed by our own Engineers these vehicles are constantly being refined to meet the challenges presented by new tunnel configurations.
Our operating crews are highly trained to ensure safe deployment on some of the countries busiest motorways whilst minimising road closure and traffic disruption. The outcome is to optimise tunnel visibility providing a safer environment for road users.
A detergent dosing system holding a 1000 litres of fluid with the 6,500 litre water tank feed the tunnel cleaning mechanism.
The tunnel cleaner’s brush washing crane arm system is operated and controlled from a specially designed and fully enclosed cabin mounted on the rear of the chassis to achieve optimum efficiency.
Completely independent of the main body construction, it is located adjacent to the brush arm with spray bar, capable of rotating through 120 degrees, has a hydraulic raise function and includes the following features and controls: jetting operation controls for detergent and water selection, crane arm extension and rotational controls, jet pump stop/start controls, front screen air blowers, extractor fan, filtered air, night heater, front screen wipers, interior lighting and lap strap.
Flexibility of the tunnel cleaner is further enhanced by the incorporation of a high pressure hand lance for dealing with awkward to reach areas.
With a reach of 11 metres the equipment has the capability to clean, in addition to tunnels, industrial units, large flat surfaces and other large structures.
Providing an international service IWJS operates tunnel and large surface cleaning equipment in the UK and Europe.
